Amancio Ortega opens Confecciones GOA, a small dressmaking workshop.

ZARA IS BORN
With the opening of the first Zara store in A Coruña, Amancio Ortega’s endeavor expands from maker to retailer.

1985
INDITEX MAKES IT OFFICIAL
The founding brings all our companies together under one banner.

1988-90
GOING GLOBAL
Zara begins to make its mark across the map with new stores in Porto, New York, and Paris.

1991-99
OUR FAMILY EXPANDS
Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka and Stradivarius joined the Inditex Group.

2000/2001
SAME HOMETOWN, NEW HQ
As our new headquarters are built in Arteixo, Inditex goes public on the Madrid Stock Exchange and Oysho is launched.

WELCOME 'HOME'
The creation of Zara Home takes the label into a new space for empowering expression.
