AWS DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our cloud infrastructure and production environments.

This is a high-responsibility, hands-on role for someone who can work independently, make sound technical decisions, and ensure that our applications and infrastructure remain stable, secure, scalable, and highly available.

The ideal candidate is comfortable taking full ownership of production systems, troubleshooting critical issues, and designing and maintaining separate Development, QA, and Production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain our AWS infrastructure and production environments
• Ensure production applications are stable, secure, performant, and highly available
• Independently investigate and resolve infrastructure and production issues
• Create, configure, and maintain DEV, QA, and PROD environments
• Design infrastructure that allows environments to be reproducible, consistent, and isolated
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Manage application deployments and release processes
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and infrastructure health checks
• Monitor application and infrastructure performance and proactively identify potential problems
• Manage backups, disaster recovery procedures, and restore processes
• Maintain AWS networking, DNS, SSL/TLS certificates, load balancers, and security configuration
• Manage IAM users, roles, permissions, secrets, and access policies
• Review and improve AWS security and infrastructure architecture
• Optimize AWS infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost
• Maintain technical documentation for infrastructure, deployments, and operational procedures
• Work closely with development and QA teams to support application releases and new projects
• Participate in the planning and implementation of infrastructure changes and architecture improvements

Required Experience

• Strong professional experience working with AWS
• Strong understanding of production infrastructure and cloud operations
• Experience managing business-critical applications in production
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of infrastructure decisions
• Experience creating and maintaining multiple environments such as DEV / QA / PROD
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
• Experience with CI/CD systems and automated deployments
• Strong knowledge of Linux
• Experience with containers and Docker
• Understanding of networking, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and reverse proxies
• Experience with monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting
• Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production problems under pressure

What We Expect

This is not a role where infrastructure tasks are simply executed based on detailed instructions.

We are looking for someone who can understand the complete infrastructure, identify risks, propose solutions, and independently implement them.

You will be expected to take ownership of the environments you manage and to treat production stability and availability as a priority.

When an infrastructure or production problem occurs, you should be capable of investigating the issue across the complete stack, determining the root cause, implementing the solution, and taking steps to prevent the same problem from happening again.
