Data Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and take ownership of maintaining and optimizing our analytical database (data cube) while ensuring efficient data ingestion and transformation. The role involves managing ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with analysts and business users to support reporting and analytics needs.

The primary focus will be on data warehouse maintenance, data loading, and pipeline optimization. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and automation of reporting solutions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of insights to key stakeholders.

This position will initially require working from our office, with the potential to transition to a hybrid work arrangement later.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, optimize, and expand the existing analytical database (data cube).
• Design, implement, and manage ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion and transformation.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability to support business decisions.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for internal and external users.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, participate in functional discussions, and create dashboard mockups.
• Automate manual data processes to improve scalability and efficiency.
• Monitor and improve the quality and reliability of data, ensuring accurate insights for business users.
• Provide regular reports and data insights to management and analysts.
• Collaborate with IT, analysts, and business users to ensure data solutions meet organizational needs.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline development.
• Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI (or similar).
• Ability to translate business needs into effective data solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.).
• Knowledge of big data processing tools (Apache Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Experience with machine learning or advanced analytics is an advantage.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate).
