Design Internship

Location: Remote (CET±2 hours)
Type of employment: Full-time

Are you a design major or finishing your studies in a similar field? Excited about digital visual communications and the power of video? Do you have a taste for digital technologies in general and would love to work in a highly innovative, dynamic international environment? We are looking for talented and creative individuals to help our design team visually communicate the latest events and updates in the OriginTrail ecosystem through a variety of visual materials.

Requirements:

• A strong eye for visual composition
• Demonstrable graphic design skills (existing projects to showcase - client work as well as student projects are acceptable)
• Proficiency with desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop and Illustrator
• Basic video editing skills
• Basic knowledge of Figma
• Familiarity with designing different communication materials, from social media posts and blog covers to event announcements, different charts, etc.
• Readiness to approach learning by doing
• High motivation to self-improve in graphic as well as UX/UI design
• High English language proficiency

Nice to have:

• Formal education (BSc) in graphic design or related field
• Advanced video editing skills and previous experience in producing video materials for social media and/or YouTube
• Experience using Figma as a design collaboration tool
• Experience using AI tools in design (like MidJourney, Adobe Firefly, etc.)
• Previous experience working in design teams and cross-collaboration with other teams like communications, marketing, and/or product development
• Previous experience in UX/UI design

Your responsibilities would include:

• Contributing to and delivering high-quality designs of various visual communications materials for the OriginTrail ecosystem (both digital and print)
• Video editing of different video materials from online webinars and other educational events to producing short promotional or explainer videos
• Using graphic design and video editing software and working with a wide variety of media
• Managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables and adhering to brand guidelines
• Collaborating  within and across the design team and other teams (communications and marketing team, product managers, QA testers, software developers) throughout the discovery, design, and development process
  Self-improvement in graphic design and UX/UI design

What would your day at Trace Labs look like?
As part of Trace Labs, you will have the unique opportunity to research and utilize state-of-the-art technology to build, design, help implement, or communicate (depending on the team you are applying for) AI-ready solutions daily, utilizing the power of the OriginTrail Decentralized Knowledge Graph. Because technical novelty requires constant learning, over the years, we have become big fans of scrum, self-organizing teams, and evolving solutions from proof-of-concepts to complete production-ready systems. This usually involves working together with the research community and institutions from relevant industries as well as our supportive open-source community.

This means we communicate and document our work in English and are big fans of standards, such as GS1 and W3C, as well as engineering frameworks, such as using the NASA technology readiness level scale.

Applied learning is what we value the most, as this increases the knowledge of the whole organization. You will most likely be engaged in hands-on implementation projects with our partners and clients.
