DevOps Lead Engineer

Your responsibilities:

• Manage and prioritize DevOps task assignment and prioritization in collaboration with feature team leads and project managers
• Set and manage expectations for delivery of DevOps tasks to provide feedback into release schedules based on overall capacity
• Implement security best practices within CI/CD pipelines, including vulnerability scanning, secret management, and policy enforcement
• Collaborate with development teams to plan, develop, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot and monitor delivery pipelines
• Writing design proposals, reports, manuals, and other technical documents
• Develop software development strategies for the successful deployment of software in a multitude of technology stacks
• Work closely with security, IT operations, and business leaders to align DevOps strategies with organizational goals
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) to ensure scalable, repeatable environments.
• Own monitoring and observability strategies using tools like Prometheus, Datadog, or CloudWatch
• Develop disaster recovery and failover strategies to ensure high availability and business continuity
• Optimize build and deployment processes to reduce lead time and increase release velocity
• Coach and mentor your DevOps team, along with the development and infrastructure groups on the best approaches to safely and securely release quality software
• Create internal documentation, training materials, and technical workshops to elevate DevOps maturity across the organization
• Promote and lead implementation of DevOps best practices across development and operations teams to drive continuous improvement and automation adoption
• Staying current on industry developments and technologies

What you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience in DevOps, having successfully led teams and initiatives in a DevOps environment
• Strong understanding of software development life cycles, coding standards & build life cycles, and automation
• In-depth experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining continuous integration and deployment pipelines, ensuring secure practices including vulnerability scanning, secret management, and policy enforcement
• Ability to develop and deploy software strategies across multiple technology stacks, ensuring successful and scalable software releases
• Demonstrated expertise in containerizing applications using Docker and managing container deployments with Kubernetes, ensuring efficient deployment, scaling, and management of applications in cloud environments
• Experience with Terraform and CloudFormation, with the ability to ensure scalable and repeatable environments
• Strong background in development using Java with build tools like Maven and Gradle for dependency management and project automation
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins for automating the software delivery pipeline, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
• AWS Cloud Services Expertise: Proficient in utilizing a range of AWS services, including EC2 (with Autoscaling), EBS, SNS, ECS, EKS, and S3 for building scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure
• Proficiency in developing and implementing monitoring and observability strategies using tools like Prometheus, Datadog, or CloudWatch to track system health and performance
• Expertise in developing disaster recovery, failover strategies, and ensuring high availability and business continuity for critical systems and services
• Ability to drive the adoption of DevOps best practices across development and operations teams, fostering continuous improvement and automation
