DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Job Description

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced DevOps/SRE Engineer with a strong background in cloud computing, container orchestration, and large-scale system management. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable infrastructure to support our microservices-based applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Design & Management:
  • Design and manage cloud-based systems using AWS.
  • Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance for services catering to over 1 million users.

• CI/CD Pipeline Implementation:
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment processes.
  • Integrate tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar platforms into our workflows.

• Collaboration & Support:
  • Partner with development, QA, and product teams to identify infrastructure needs and improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

• Monitoring & Incident Management:
  • Implement monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to track system health and performance.
  • Respond to and resolve production incidents efficiently.

• Performance Optimization:
  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize infrastructure for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Microservices Architecture Support:
  • Design and maintain a scalable microservices architecture using Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate on service discovery, load balancing, and API gateways.

• Tooling & Automation:
  • Develop custom scripts and tools to automate routine tasks and improve processes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and integrate new tools as needed.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles.
• Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Understanding of automation frameworks like Ansible, Terraform, or Chef.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of other cloud platforms (GCP, Azure).
• Strong understanding of relational databases and database best practices.
• Experience managing high-traffic environments
• Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and container runtimes.
