The role of Director of Product Management at HostPapa Inc. is pivotal in shaping both immediate and long-range strategies for the Partner Business Unit. This position entails collaborative efforts with colleagues across various project aspects, ensuring the effective implementation of strategic elements. Key responsibilities include developing and overseeing product strategies for our core wholesale business solutions, as well as conducting in-depth analyses of product trends. This role is instrumental in implementing strategies that maximize revenue and profitability for our main product lines.
In this role, the Director of Product Management collaborates extensively with multiple departments such as product marketing and development, project management, technology, partner marketing, technical support, sales, and services management.
This position is crucial for managing the Product Management of strategic initiatives, with a focus on driving the profitable growth of the product portfolio. The Director is charged with overseeing product financial metrics and achieving strategic, growth-focused objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Leads the formulation of both immediate and extended strategies for the Partner Business Unit, adapting to evolving partner needs and profit objectives
- Oversees the comprehensive product roadmap, coordinating with colleagues and supporting the organization to bring the strategy to fruition. Ensures that both short-term and long-term roadmaps are in sync with the broader business strategy
- Conducts thorough market opportunity assessments to inform investment decisions and evaluate associated risks
- Develops and implements a pricing strategy, along with setting schedules, guidelines, and operational procedures
- Monitors and evaluates key performance metrics to assess product performance in the market, its effect on company operations, and its contribution to profitability
- Takes charge of market analysis regarding competitors' products, features, and capabilities, maintaining our competitive edge in the industry
- Craft comprehensive business cases, oversee the stage gate process, and ensure the successful launch of products, maintaining adherence to budget, timelines, and quality standards, while tracking revenue and profitability performance against initial business projections
- Establish critical metrics for assessing product line performance and define benchmarks for success
- Undertake detailed research to analyze and evaluate market trends and technological advancements, delivering insightful findings and recommendations. Based on this analysis, develop precise product requirements and execute strategies to achieve the targeted business outcomes
- Collaborate internally with Marketing and Sales:
- Define and size market segments, and distribution strategy
- Determine product positioning for all markets and all buyer types
- Document the typical buying process
- Develop comprehensive go-to-market plans
- Develop and achieve product revenue and profitability objectives
About you:
- Fluency in English
- Strong business acumen, communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of product development and product integration across many different systems, working within waterfall and agile environments
- Experience and knowledge of SaaS models, the Cloud Hosting market, and Security Products
- Expertise and technical understanding of internet functionality, APIs, and billing systems
- Knowledge of project management methodology
- Proven track record for driving new product capabilities from internal concept to successful release planning, delivery and market adoption
- Knowledge of sales, marketing and product management processes
- A keen interest in product design, development, integration and the value that products deliver to the end customer to ensure long-term success and customer lifetime value
- Operate within the context of approved methods
- Product Management experience in both retail and wholesale models a plus
