Embedded Software Engineer

Within the R&D team in an international and multi-site environment, as an Embedded Software Engineer, you would be in charge of developing, implementing and testing new features of our leak detection devices.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, testing and integration of new electronic products’ embedded software
• Maintenance, optimization and enhancement of existing embedded software solutions
• Detection and resolution of software and hardware issues
• Proposition of tools and testing methods to verify the functionality, security and reliability of embedded software and hardware
• Creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for embedded software design, specifications, implementation instructions, testing procedures and user documentation
• Participation in and conduction of code reviews to maintain code quality
• Adherence to and enhancement of established coding standards and share knowledge within a team
• Participation in the development of embedded software specifications based on received requirements and insurance of their subsequent implementation
• Report of status and progress according to the project and company requirements
• Collaboration with team members, sharing and broadening your knowledge and experience, creation of new ideas
• Provide mentorship to junior engineering staff
• (Optionally) design/develop hardware schematics, PCB layouts and associated output documents

Requirements / Knowledge

• C/C++/Assembly programming languages in embedded systems
• Microcontrollers and/or embedded system platforms such as ARM Cortex, STM, PIC, SiLabs, NXP, NRF, TI, …
• Embedded software design and architecture, as well as firmware-hardware integration
• Software development tools and methodologies used in embedded systems
• Interfaces and protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, Modbus, …)
• RF communication protocols (LoRa, SigFox, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G, 4G, ISM, …)
• Bootloader
• Electronic laboratory equipment for development/troubleshooting low-level drivers and hardware integration
• Version control tools (Git/SVN)
• High-level programming languages, familiarity with object-oriented methodologies and user interface implementation is an advantage

Your Profile

• University degree (BSc or MSc) in Electrical Engineering or related field, ideally with a focus on Electronics.
• At least 6 Years of experience in Embedded System Development or Embedded Software Engineering.
• Upper-Intermediate level of English language, both spoken and written.
• Ability to learn new skills and adapt to challenges.
• Autonomous, open-minded, problem solving.
• Results-oriented, self-motivated, systematic and reliable.
• Communication skills, teamwork capability and organizational abilities.
