Role overview:

We are looking for an Engineering manager to lead our Platform team responsible for delivering foundational services and capabilities that enable our engineering organization to build software more efficiently and effectively. The Platform Engineering Manager will blend deep technical expertise with leadership skills to help develop a strategic vision for our platform, ensuring it supports the needs of our stream-aligned teams. This multidimensional role combines people management, process mastery, and a relentless focus on quality and innovation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic Platform Leadership: Develop and maintain a strategic vision for the platform that aligns with organizational objectives, streamlining operations for stream-aligned teams.
  • Delivery and Support of Platform Services: Ensure the development, reliability, and scalability of platform services with a focus on automation and self-service.
  • Agile and Process Excellence: Drive the adoption and refinement of Agile methodologies, facilitating Agile ceremonies and leveraging metrics to optimize team performance and delivery processes.
  • Team management: Manage a team of software engineers, mentor them through continuous feedback. and help them to the next stage of their professional development.
  • Hiring: Help with recruiting and retaining qualified team members along with onboarding, continuous evaluation, and education.
  • Collaboration: Engage with other teams’ leaders to ensure seamless implementation of the platform strategy, addressing the broader business and technical needs.
  • Technical and Architectural Leadership: Partner with Technical Leads and Architects to guide the platform's technical direction, ensuring alignment with standards and long-term objectives.

You are an Engineering Manager with:

  • A degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a platform engineering leadership position, delivering scalable and reliable platform services.
  • Deep understanding of technical architecture, cloud technologies, and automation.
  • Experience with driving technical and architectural discussion within a team.
  • Expertise in microservices architecture and REST APIs design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience with Agile, Lean, Continuous delivery approaches and best practices like CI/CD.
  • Experience with DevOps best practices of end-to-end responsibility and automation.
  • Solid English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Organized and disciplined work ethic.

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of workflow and process orchestration technologies like Camunda.
  • Experience with observability stacks like Grafana, Datadog, or similar.
  • Experience with Security management tools.
