GIS Back End Developer

Exceptional, stable-growth opportunity that contributes to the gold standard in geospatial software development supporting the National Map at USGS. While working as part of a longstanding tight-knit Agile development team you will actively design back-end geospatially enabled applications to manage hydrographic analysis and troubleshoot engineering problems related to core National Map applications. XTS is seeking a strong candidate with great Python and GIS Spatial reasoning who can apply those mindsets and skills to problem-solving. The position can be done remotely, especially by strong communicators who integrate through MS Teams and JIRA.

Position Requirements

• Strong Python-enabled programming proficiency including knowledge of GeoPandas and other demonstrated spatial libraries. 
• Extensive knowledge of ESRI programming libraries as the customer is heavily focused on this technology but some open source applications including future incorporation of QGIS would be a bonus
• JavaScript for some open-layer applications would be necessary.
• Previous experience with GDAL and automated projection transformation for programming.
• Bachelor's degree and/or 4-6 years of software programming experience
