Join us in this exciting role and support our General Marketplaces team as our Head of data services.

As Head of Data Services in General Marketplaces, you will own and further develop a 80TB  cloud based data lake for the most known second-hand platforms in Switzerland (anibis.ch, tutti.ch, Ricardo.ch), wow our users together with your team and improve our teams’ efficiency by designing and building data and AI services to be embedded into our products and internal tools. You will be part of a cross-functional, agile data team with an open mindset and convivial teammates who enjoy learning new skills and sharing theirs.

About the position:

• You will lead and coach a team of Data & ML Engineers, analysts and scientists
• You will lead decisions around the design and development of the data integration in the data lake and also AI services leveraging this data in the production environment.
• You will communicate and align with various teams on business and technical needs to conduct your projects
• You will be responsible for ensuring the data foundation is performant and scales with business needs and further drive the development of our analytics capabilities
• You will be responsible for a full GCP project (architecture, choice of technologies, cost monitoring, alerting, etc..)

We already know you’re talented, but here are some other requirements for the role: 

• Fast learner and ability to connect the dots both from a business and technical perspective
• You have extensive programming, SQL and data modelling skills in cloud environments (GCP, BigQuery is a plus) 
• You have the ability to work well across different teams, feel comfortable with multithreading and deal with ambiguity
• You do both project management and operational work, are able to delegate and spread knowledge and coach
•  You want to make a difference working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment for the leading second-hand marketplaces in Switzerland and work with cross located teams (You speak fluent English, French or German are a plus)
