We are looking for a Junior Quality Assurance Engineer to build high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade software.
You will be part of a talented software team that works on mission-critical applications.
Note: This is a temporary replacement position for a colleague who is on maternity leave.
What you will do
- Create detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Write and execute manual test scenarios
- Identify, document and track bugs
- Write automated tests under the mentorship of senior colleagues
- Actively improve knowledge in QA and best test automation practices
- Work closely with software developers and other QA engineers
- Learn and apply different types of software testing, testing methodologies, tests automation, tools and processes
- Learn how continuous integration system works, monitors test executions ran by the CI system
What skills are required for this position
- At least 1 year of software testing experience
- A software-engineering related university degree is a plus
- Good communication skills
- Clear and logical way of thinking
- Detail-oriented
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
What knowledge and skills are nice to have
- Work experience on similar positions
- Good knowledge of Jira solution and test plugins such as Zephyr
- Understanding of and working experience with docker containers
- Knowledge of CI tools like Jenkins
- Familiarity with test management tools and bug tracking tools
- Developing code designed for system testing using Java
- Working experience with GIT code versioning tool
- Familiar with Agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum)
What the interview/selection process looks like
- Up to three rounds of interviews
- First interview is a mix of technical and HR interview. It takes about 45 minutes. We go through your resume and discuss your projects and work experiences.
- The 2nd interview is technical and consists of two parts. A small feature is presented, and it should be covered by a test plan. This part is done remotely. The second part is done face-to-face in our office. We select a couple of test cases from the test plan and automate them, discuss the test plan, improvements…
