Due to our continuous growth, we are looking for: Kubernetes Engineer

We are expanding our newly formed team for a long term project, for our Client in process automation for the logistics domain. If you are a passionate engineer who is focused on Windows servers, competent in scripting, and you are an expert on Kubernetes, this is a great opportunity to advance in the direction of integration of advanced systems using Infrastructure as a code approach. You would work in a small, highly skilled team, in a friendly and flexible environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Container Platform environments (test, acceptance, production) and 80+ downstream clusters
• Improve the Container Platform, Edge Computing, and Virtualization solutions
• Focusing on automation and minimizing operational overhead
• Secure the platform to ensure compliance with security best practices.
• Lead the transition from VMware OVAs to a Kubernetes-based virtualization solution, implementing insights from the ongoing Proof of Concept (PoC).
• Enhance the IoT Edge solution in domains of improving security, patch management, and update mechanisms.

About you

• At least 5 years of working in high tech environment with focus on Infrastructure and ideally Kubernetes
• Proven and solid hands-on experience with containers; Kubernetes (preferably using: SUSE Rancher, Microsoft, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Linux (Ubuntu/SUSE), SUSE Longhorn, VMware vSphere
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (eg. Terraform/Terragrunt, Ansible, GitOps methodologies)
• Solid understanding of Linux-based systems, container runtimes, and automation
• Experience with virtualization technologies and hosting platforms such as Azure.
• Excellent knowledge and usage of VMware and OVA-s
• Good knowledge of Dockers, containerD
• Scripting language knowledge (ideally PowerShell or Python)
• R&D mindset: willingness to learn new things, investigate unknown problems and improve existing implementation
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage tasks according to schedule
• Good command of written and spoken English

It would be a plus to have

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline setup and administration
• Knowledge of Git and Artifactory
• Knowledge of of Bamboo and Bitbucket
