Job Summary:

XG Dynamics doo is seeking a Networking R&D Engineer. This role offers the flexibility of working either onsite in Belgrade, Serbia, or remotely, with periodic travel to Belgrade required.
The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and several years of experience in computer networking. Familiarity with Linux, and cellular networks (5G) is a plus. This will be a dynamic role and will focus on the development of a hybrid simulation/emulation/physical 5G/futureG testbed.

Key Responsibili0es:

1. Integrate with an interdisciplinary team of experts in networking and 5G to implement and maintain a high fidelity 5G testbed
2. Stay up to date with the cuWng edge 5G Core and Radio Access Network open-source implementations such as OpenAirInterface and srsRAN
3. Maintain the virtual testbed infrastructure
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable solutions
5. Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders clearly
6. Engage in ongoing 5G research on the testbed and participate in publications

Qualifica0ons:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is advance)
• Background in computer networking and protocols
• Familiar with wireless communications, and more specifically cellular networks such as 5G
• Experience in programming languages like Python or C++ and the ability to write efficient, clean, and maintainable code
• Experience with Linux and comfortable working in the command line
• Familiarity with command line networking tools such as iperf, tcpdump, netstat, etc.
• Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMWare vSphere, XCP-ng, Proxmox) and containerization technologies (Docker)
• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes
• Experience with network management, configuration, and diagnostics. SDN experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Proficiency in English.
