Job Overview
As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for leading the product development process from ideation to execution. You will work with development teams, stakeholders, and other business units to ensure the product roadmap aligns with the company’s strategic goals. This role requires strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that it is visible, transparent, and clear to all stakeholders
- Define and clearly communicate the acceptance criteria for each task or feature
- Guide the planning of product release strategies, set expectations for delivery timelines, and ensure alignment with broader company goals
- Provide leadership during sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that the development process remains aligned with business objectives
- Act as the primary liaison between the development team and stakeholders, including customers, product managers, and others to gather and filter feedback
- Communicate progress, roadblocks, and risks to stakeholders, ensuring they have a clear understanding of development status while managing their expectations at a strategic level
- Foster a productive team environment by facilitating communication and collaboration, identifying and removing impediments, and ensuring alignment with external groups
- Provide the development team with the necessary context and clarity on product backlog items to ensure effective execution of tasks and delivery of high-quality outcomes
- Oversee the successful launch and adoption of new product features, monitor performance, and make adjustments as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing product roadmaps, backlogs, and prioritization processes.
- Ability to think strategically while paying attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Experience with product management tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics and KPIs to guide product decisions.
- A passion for customer-centric product development and continuous improvement
