Python Software Engineer (generalist back-end and AI)

Cloud IB is a fast-growing startup aiming to revolutionize the investment banking industry by providing digital analytics tools to investment banks, consulting firms, investors and corporate clients around the world. We are based in Zurich, Switzerland, and Belgrade, Serbia, and are looking to expand our team.

Cloud IB is looking for a Python Software Engineer to join our team based in Belgrade. The role involves both back-end development and applied AI engineering. You will work in a small team of software engineers as well as interact directly with the senior management / founders (CTO and CEO) who have extensive experience at tier 1 investment banks in the U.S. and Europe. It is a great opportunity to take responsibility and participate in shaping technical and organizational processes in a startup.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development of back-end components for our platform
• Influence features and feature implementation from requirements gathering to delivery
• Co-developing back-end systems and application landscape
• Utilize established AI applications to integrate advanced functionalities into our existing systems
• Participate in R&D efforts to explore new AI technologies and methodologies
• Contribute with your ideas and initiatives as part of our agile environment
• Continuously improve our technology stack and work processes
• Participate in code reviews and team development

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Science, Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics
• Knowledge of major Python libraries and frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, pandas, SQLAlchemy
• Experience with CI / CD (Github Actions, Teamcity, Jenkins), version control systems, and Docker
• Basic DevOps knowledge would be a plus
• Interest or experience in finance or GIS (Geographic Information Systems) would be a plus
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly, self-motivation, excellent communication skills and the ability to work responsibly in a dynamic international environment
