Pollard Digital Solutions, a Pollard Banknote Company, is looking for passionate, self-motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join the Game Studio within the Technology department. As a QA Specialist at our Game Studio, you will play a crucial role in both the strategic and hands-on aspects of ensuring software quality for our lottery games. Your day-to-day will involve a mix of manual testing and developing automated test suites, always with the goal of enhancing product quality from ideation through delivery to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in a cross-functional scrum team, constantly looking for ways to improve software quality from inception through to deployment.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for your product area, deeply understanding its functionality, use cases, and customer impact.
- Conduct hands-on testing across a range of functional and non-functional tests, including front-end (FE) and back-end (BE) aspects like API calls, logs, and database interactions.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts, focusing on API and UI testing, with plans to integrate these tests into the CI/CD pipeline for future improvements.
- Integrate automated tests within our CI/CD pipelines and optimize testing phases.
- Review and discuss test results with the team, document identified issues for resolution, and collaborate closely with software engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage across all layers of our tech stack.
- Update and maintain testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Follow new tools and technologies, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement of testing practices and tools at both the team and company levels.
You Are a QA Engineer With:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Software Quality Assurance or Test Engineer position as part of a wider cross-functional team in a highly collaborative environment.
- Experience testing within an Agile development environment with a CI/CD pipeline.
- Knowledge and working experience with at least one programming language.
- Strong analytical approach and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Experience testing web applications with a deep understanding of how they work.
- Previous experience testing APIs.
- Experience in writing and running basic SQL statements.
- Basic knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
- Solid English skills, both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Organized and disciplined work ethic.
- Security-minded mindset.
- Experience with RestAssured and/or Postman.
- Knowledge of any issue tracking system (e.g., JIRA, TFS, HPQC).
