Pollard Digital Solutions (PDS), a Pollard Banknote Company, is looking for a passionate, self-motivated, and experienced Network Administrator to join our IT team. The Network Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our network infrastructure. This role includes ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the network infrastructure that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked equipment.
Main responsibilities
- Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, VPNs, access points, and firewalls from Palo Alto, Cisco, Extreme Networks, and Dell.
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot network issues and outages.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
- Communicate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Maintain and update network documentation.
- Ensure the network design and implementation is aligned with company goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives.
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent education.
Skills Required
- 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto networks.
- 10+ years of experience in networking and infrastructure.
- Relevant network certificates would be considered as an advantage.
- Ability to apply a high level of problem-solving skills and expertise to analyze and report on actions and/or solutions.
- Understanding of ITIL processes would be considered as an advantage.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of the business.
Technical Skills
- Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco network equipment.
- Knowledge of additional systems like Windows servers, AWS, Linux or Grafana would be considered as an advantage.
