Senior System Administrator (Datacenter Team)

Project Description

The DC and Cloud solutions team is responsible for the global support of enterprise systems (infrastructure and platforms for enterprise applications) in a large international company. An engineer in our department will need to work with a team focused on improving the resiliency, reliability, and availability of infrastructure components.

Responsibilities

• Data centers infrastructure improvement and support, work with private cloud (VMware vRealize/Aria Automation suite) and public clouds (Azure, AWS).
• Management of virtual machines on virtualization platforms based on Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere.
• Management of backup systems based on Veeam solutions. Configuring tape libraries and disk storage.
• Interaction with corporate systems development groups, participation in the processes of their deployment and updating.
• Prompt and adequate resolution of incidents and problems arising in the infrastructure.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies, (ESXi, vCenter in the first place; vSAN, NSX, vRA/AA would be a big plus) - 4 years.
• Experience with Veeam backup solutions (Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure/AWS) - 3 years.
• Experience in administration of Windows servers (main server roles) - 4 years.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft virtualization technology (Hyper-V, Failover Clustering, Microsoft SCVMM) - 4 years.
• Hands-on experience with Enterprise-level hardware equipment: servers and storage arrays (Dell in the first place) - 2 years.
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell.
• Understanding the principles of building fault-tolerant systems
• Experience in supporting Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above): installation, configuration, backup tasks, database maintenance, clustering (AlwaysON Availability Groups), problem solving, ability to write simple SQL queries.
• Good understanding of the principles of supplementary network services and technologies (DNS, DHCP, VLAN, etc).

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS (Compute, Storage, Databases, Automation). Willingness to develop skills in relevant technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Terraform, Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Flux CD, Kasten
