Drive game design and feature development for live strategy MMOs, ensuring fun gameplay, KPI success, and ongoing refinement.
Job description:
- We are looking to expand our team with a talented Game Designer who is passionate about games and is keen to enhance the experience of millions of strategy MMO players.
- As our next colleague, you are a committed individual, with initiative, not afraid to make changes or improvements when necessary and who is ready to give and receive direct and constructive feedback.
- You will be working in small teams expected to take control of their game, understand the product vision and implement it in an iterative manner. For us terms like “fast-paced”, “agile” and “ownership” are not just buzzwords, they are part of our work ethic and daily routine.
Your role:
- Operate on existing long-tail games with a large set of interconnected features;
- Design features and mechanics that are fun for our players and positive for our KPIs;
- Own the features your design starting with the clear and concise documentation that you will write and that will guide the rest of the team;
- Manage live features in games with an ever developing economy. Your work does not end when features go live;
- Work with economy designers, artists, developers and testers in an iterative manner to polish and fine tune your designs as they go through the implementation process;
- Work with data analysts and producers to make sure your features are properly tracked and understand how players use them and how they impact the game;
- Work with both in-house and remote teams;
- Be a center point of knowledge regarding your game not only on the design side but everything related: monetization, game balance, player behavior and so on.
You have:
- Experience working as a game designer preferably in the mobile industry;
- A good understanding of mobile free to play and its underlying mechanics;
- Knowledge of the gaming industry and its trends;
- Ability to deconstruct game loops and mechanics;
- No fear to crunch the numbers in Excel until they obey your vision;
- Knowledge of game genres, player types and motivations;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- The willingness to learn and grow together with your game team.
Nice to have:
- Passionate about strategy and mobile games;
- Experience with live games;
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage your time so you can cope with multiple ongoing projects;
- Several high-level accounts in games that we all know and love, or maybe even ones we never heard of.
