Big Data Software Engineer

We recently became Datastax silver partners and are looking to expand our big data team. There is additional demand of server side programming, storing of huge amounts of data and presenting it to decision makers. We are looking to someone to whom we can pass our knowledge and experience from our past projects and who can contribute on our current and future projects.

If you are using every chance you have to improve the model and design of the entire system and enjoy investigating new frameworks, implementing web services or optimizing database performance, this could be the right position for you!

Required technical skills:

• Professional in Java programming language
• Have experience with databases and data processing
• Understands OOP
• Knows REST and understands benefits from modeling applications as small services
• Desirable knowledge of Big data and Big data related technologies (Cassandra DB, Apache Solr, Elasticsearch, Apache Lucene, Kafka, AMQP, ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ, Apache Spark, Storm, NoSQL)
• Knowledge of Linux

• Experience in development, 2+ years
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to work with minimum guidance and to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
• Excellent verbal and communication skills in English
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and business areas
• Establishing strong business relationships and working effectively with senior management and clients
• Discovering the requirements and accommodating to the client’s requests, recommending alternative technical and business approaches
• Designing, developing and modifying modules based on functional and system requirements, by working closely with other team members
• Communicating business needs to technical people and communicating and simplifying complex technical information for non-technical people
• Proven ability to share knowledge
