Cisco Network Engineer (Medior/Senior)

We are looking for an experienced, talented and highly motivated Cisco Network Engineer (Medior/Senior) to join their team in Belgrade or Novi Sad.

Responsibilities:

ITAF, as a Managed Service Provider, delivers network infrastructure solutions using Cisco hardware and PfSense. You will operate within the operations team, handling 2nd and 3rd line network support after 1st line captures initial info. The ICT Team Lead will escalate incidents or requests needing your expertise. Your focus is on maintaining active services and infrastructure, along with taking a lead role in setting up and implementing new network services for customers.

The job content:

• Resolve complex networking requests/incidents through our case management system.
• Perform advanced configuration and changes on Cisco hardware located at customer premises and in datacenters.
• Work closely with Line managers, Project managers, Event Management Team leads, and Consultants to ensure professional resolution of network issues.
• Stay current with the latest technologies in your field and participate in relevant trainings.
• Write and maintain clear documentation and procedures to support effective knowledge transfer and troubleshooting.
• Take ownership of escalated network requests, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
• Participate in planning, designing, and deploying advanced network solutions.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer working with Cisco technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, electrical engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP or higher) are highly desirable.
• Solid command of English (spoken and written).

Strong knowledge of Cisco Networking and Firewall Technologies:

Routing & Switching:

• Cisco IOS and IOS XR platforms
• MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching)
• BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) session configuration and troubleshooting
• DMVPN (Dynamic Multipoint VPN)
• Layer 2: VLANs, trunking, EtherChannels, RSTP/MSTP

Security & VPNs:

• IPsec VPNs (site-to-site)
• Remote Access VPN (OpenVPN)
• NAT (Network Address Translation)
• Firewall policies and rule management

Wireless Networking:

• Cisco 9800/5500 Series Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) configuration and administration

Soft skills:

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers
