Your Mission

As Global IT Team Lead – Product Lifecycle Management, you are part of PWO’s central IT organization and hold end‑to‑end IT ownership for systems, interfaces, and data enabling the complete product lifecycle across all Business Units.

You design and orchestrate an enterprise IT landscape covering lifecycle costing, CRM, SRM, PPM, SAP integration, and EDM / PDM.
Your goal is to ensure that engineering data, commercial logic, and enterprise systems are integrated, governed, and usable for reliable decision‑making across the entire lifecycle.

Note: This role does not involve software development.
It focuses on IT solution ownership, architecture, orchestration, testing, and partner steering.

 

Key Responsibilities

IT Ownership & Architecture

  • Act as global IT owner for lifecycle‑relevant business systems.
  • Define and govern the target IT architecture, system behavior, integrations, and data structures.
  • Ensure reliable SAP ERP integration with finance, controlling, and adjacent platforms.

Integration, Orchestration & Acceptance

  • Design and own business‑level interfaces and end‑to‑end data flows.
  • Orchestrate internal IT teams and external implementation partners.
  • Take ownership for integration quality, system testing, and business acceptance.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, upgrade‑capable, and globally usable.

Platform vs. Custom Solutions

  • Distinguish between platform‑based solutions and custom/hard‑coded applications.
  • Assess lifecycle impact regarding maintainability, integration, upgrades, vendor lock‑in, and long‑term cost.
  • Make architecture decisions with a long‑term governance and TCO perspective.

Product Lifecycle Costing (Conceptual)

  • Understand lifecycle costing logic, cost drivers, and change impacts.
  • Translate commercial logic into system behavior and data models (no calculations).
  • Work closely with Controlling and Business Units.

EDM / PDM & PPM Awareness

  • Understand where lifecycle data resides, how it is structured, versioned, and governed.
  • Ensure EDM / PDM data is consumable by costing, PPM, SAP, CRM, and SRM systems.

Deep expertise in all domains is not required; understanding the end‑to‑end lifecycle context is expected.

Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and develop the Product Lifecycle Business Systems team.
  • Establish global standards for systems, interfaces, and data governance.
  • Balance local BU requirements with global IT scalability.
  • Actively manage lifecycle‑related change.
 

Key Stakeholders

Business Unit Management · Controlling & Finance · Engineering · Purchasing (SRM) · Sales (CRM) · Central IT · External Partners

You act as the integrating IT authority across engineering and business systems.

 

Your Profile

Must‑have (Non‑negotiable)

  • Strong background in IT ownership, solution architecture, and enterprise integration.
  • Proven experience with SAP integration.
  • Experience steering external implementation partners, including testing and business acceptance.
  • Ability to assess platform‑based vs. custom solutions and lifecycle implications.
  • Hands‑on at solution level (architecture, interfaces, data, acceptance) — not programming.

Should‑have

  • Understanding of product lifecycle costing logic and business drivers.

Learnable

  • Deeper expertise in EDM / PDM or PPM, supported by structured onboarding.

Leadership & Communication

  • Confident IT leader with strong stakeholder influence.
  • Fluent in English (German a plus).
  • Strategic yet pragmatic delivery mindset.
