Key responsibilities:

• Conducts systems and requirements analyses to identify project action items.
• Contributes to task lists and cost and time estimates to support project plan development.
• Performs assigned functions and tasks to meet project plan and quality review requirements.
• Records, updates, and monitors assignment deviations to ensure effective resolutions.
• Raises issues as appropriate to support effective resolutions.
• Analyses specifications and user requirements to perform assigned applications development work.
• Assists with system components’ designs to meet requirements.
• Work closely with the UX/UI team to define and validate technical feasibility of the application user interfaces.
• Participates in design and code reviews to improve quality.
• Analyses, designs, codes, tests, and documents to develop application software.
• Develops unit tests to deliver quality components.
• Performs testing and fixes of small components to ensure compliance with functional requirements.

Hierarchy and interactions:

Reporting to the Modernisation Engineering Manager and part of the Migration team. Typically interacts with other teams including Cloud Operations, Support, Product Management.

Technical skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related field.
• 3-6 years of experience working across different product domains in a product development/engineering role.
• Good communication skills necessary to manage business requests and work with different teams across different
• geographies and time-zones; experience working with remote and distributed teams will be an added advantage .
• Hands-on working knowledge and experience is required in: 
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS.
• Deep knowledge of React and state management libraries like Redux or Context API.
• Experience with React styling methodologies:
• CSS-in-JS (e.g., Styled Components, Emotion)
• CSS Modules
• SASS/SCSS
• Deep Knowledge in tools like Yarn, Grunt, Gulp, npm etc.  
• Strong understanding of API handling mechanisms:
• RESTful APIs
• JWT (JSON Web Tokens)
• OAuth2
• Error handling and data fetching strategies (e.g., Axios, Fetch API)
• Agile Methodologies (Scrum)  
• Knowledge in Benchmarking and Optimization Frameworks  
• Experience in translating designs and wireframes into high-quality, optimized code.
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git and project management tools like Azure DevOps.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure Pipelines and deployment tools like Octopus.

Experience with several of the following tools/technologies is desirable:  

• Experience with microservices architecture and micro frontend architecture.
• Familiarity with Vite as a build tool and Vitest for testing.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), preferably GCP.
• Experience in optimizing components for maximum performance across various devices and browsers.
• Experience with Nginx for serving static assets, reverse proxying, or load balancing.
• Proficiency in using React UI frameworks like Ant Design, Material-UI (MUI), or Chakra UI (preferably Ant Design).
• Experience with custom theming and component customization in UI frameworks.
