We are hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Hybrid working model - Novi Sad or Belgrade office
We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with a strong background in Monitoring and Observability (Otel) to participate in the buildout and enhancement of our SRE capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in implementing Otel within a robust SRE framework, with experience in Python, Java, and AWS cloud services. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the buildout and management of our SRE team, establishing best practices and protocols.
- Drive the adoption and implementation of Observability (Otel) across our services and platforms.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable and highly available systems on AWS.
- Write and review code in Python and Java, contributing to both development and operations solutions.
- Create automation tools for system health, performance, and reliability.
- Work closely with the development teams to integrate Otel for comprehensive observability and monitoring.
- Design and implement cloud architecture that is secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
- Define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets, ensuring they are well-understood and actionable.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and lead the implementation of effective preventive measures.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior SRE team members.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with Observability tools, such as Otel (OpenTelemetry).
- Strong experience in Monitoring using Grafana.
- Basic experience in using Prometheus.
- Some hands-on experience in Python and Java programming languages.
- Proficient in AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Knowledge of best practices in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
