QA Engineer

We are seeking a talented, motivated, and communicative QA Engineer to join our team during the early stages of product development.

The focus will be on a dynamic project centered around APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and Web Applications.
As a QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, especially concerning API integrations and Web Applications with complex underlying logic.

Your expertise in testing, coordination, planning, and clear communication will be key to providing a seamless and robust user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Test Planning & Execution: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for systems based on APIs and Web Applications.
• Team Coordination:  Participate with other QA team members in conducting functional, integration, and regression testing of APIs (in microservices), Message Brokers (MQTT family) and Web Applications, identify and document defects, and track their resolution using bug tracking systems.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to define testing requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Analysis: Continuously monitor and evaluate the quality of software releases, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement to the development and product management teams.
• Ownership: Collaborate with developers and support teams to reproduce and debug reported issues, ensuring timely delivery of bug fixes.
• Industry Awareness: Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends related to API testing, Message Broker async queuing systems, and quality assurance methodologies.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the overall improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools, advocating for quality standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience as a QA Engineer, with a focus on API and Web Applications testing.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in test planning, test case design, and test execution. Strong understanding of API web services, and experience with testing tools like Postman or similar.
• Web Applications: Familiarity with testing techniques related to Web Applications and their specifics.
  Testing Methodologies: Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies, including functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Tools & Systems: Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and bug tracking systems (e.g., Azure DevOps or JIRA) for defect tracking and collaboration.
• Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate complex concepts.
• Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong drive for learning and staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Automation Tools: Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium/WebDriver and NUnit or similar, and proficiency in object-oriented languages like C# or Java.
• Database (SQL): Familiarity in SQL and relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms and their associated PaaS, such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform would be a plus.
• Test Management Tools: Knowledge of test management and defect tracking tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or similar.
• Performance Testing: Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner. Ability to plan, implement and execute performance and load testing to assess scalability and reliability of API and Message Broker systems, identifying bottlenecks and optimization areas.
• Agile Methodologies: Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile development environments.
