Backend Team Lead

Are You an Experienced Backend Developer Looking to Lead a High-Impact Team? We are looking for a Backend team lead to guide and mentor a team of backend engineers and drive the development of scalable, secure, high-performance systems. In this role, you will set technical direction, drive best practices, and optimize backend performance in a cloud-native environment.

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of backend development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, or Go.
• 3+ years of experience in payment processing, with practical knowledge of industry standards and alternative payment methods (e.g., digital wallets, BNPL).
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based systems.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes (GKE), and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, asynchronous messaging).
• Strong understanding of security and compliance (PCI DSS, PSD2, AML/KYC) and experience with fraud prevention, chargeback handling, and dispute resolution.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, API gateways (Apigee), and observability tools for high-traffic systems.
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience
• Strong English proficiency in technical and professional communication.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a backend engineering team, fostering collaboration and continuous learning.
• Architect and optimize scalable backend systems, ensuring high performance and low latency.
• Implement serverless architectures on GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions).
• Develop and secure APIs, ensuring compliance with PCI-DSS standards and best practices for authentication (OAuth 2.0).
• Manage CI/CD pipelines with GCP Cloud Build, automating testing and enabling zero-downtime deployments.
• Enhance system reliability through performance monitoring, observability tools, and secure coding practices.
