Lead Backend Engineer (Python, 100% Remote)

We are looking for a skilled Lead Backend Engineer to help design scalable backend systems, guide a talented engineering team, and drive agile development. This role blends hands-on coding with leadership and architectural responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years in backend development, primarily using Python
• Solid grasp of microservices architecture, cloud-based infrastructures, and distributed systems
• Experience with container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Advanced knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, Amazon MQ)
• Proficiency in working with PostgreSQL, Redis, and message brokers like RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git
• Prior experience mentoring developers and coordinating agile workflows
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and system-level architecture
• Experience integrating IoT devices or working with video processing systems is an advantage
• Basic familiarity with Vue.js or frontend concepts

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development and maintenance of backend services built with Python (Django or FastAPI), optimized for scalability and performance
• Design reliable APIs and optimize system communication for real-time data flows
• Guide cloud-native deployments using Kubernetes and AWS-based infrastructure
• Oversee continuous integration and delivery workflows, ensuring smooth and frequent releases
• Collaborate cross-functionally to refine architectural decisions and improve infrastructure reliability
• Act as a team mentor and scrum facilitator—running sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and stand-ups to drive agility and efficiency
• Identify roadblocks early, propose technical solutions, and maintain development momentum
• Translate business needs into engineering goals and ensure project alignment through clear communication
