Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript and Next.js)

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (TypeScript and Next.js) to join a A UK-based company offering innovative and high-quality accounting solutions to startups, simplifying the financial processes of launching and managing a business in the UK through services like VAT filing, tax management, bookkeeping, payroll, pensions, and annual accounts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong academic background in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related disciplines).
• At least 3+ years of experience using TypeScript monorepo to organize and maintain a single codebase for both frontend and backend
• Skilled in working with AWS Lambda to implement serverless solutions for scalable backend services
• Experienced with Next.js to develop dynamic web applications using the React framework
• Knowledgeable in deploying and hosting frontend applications seamlessly with Vercel
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have:

• Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment, with a focus on fintech solutions and financial services.
• Experience with serverless architectures and the AWS ecosystem, particularly in building scalable solutions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline development and deployment.
• Knowledge of database design and optimization, ensuring efficient data management and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Take full end-to-end ownership of technical challenges, from ideation to production deployment
• Develop and maintain a TypeScript Monorepo, ensuring a clean, scalable, and maintainable codebase
• Build and optimize serverless backend services using AWS Lambda.
• Enhance our Next.js-based frontend, delivering a seamless and efficient user experience
• Deploy and manage applications on Vercel for optimal performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and ship new features that redefine accounting workflows
• Write high-quality, well-tested, and secure code following best practices
• Participate in code reviews and continuously improve our engineering processes
