About the role and the Team:
Our Business Intelligence team consists of two experienced professionals who are based in Belgrade. As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be joining this team and will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining the robust technical infrastructure needed for data analysis. This includes working closely with business professionals, data analysts and data integration engineers to collect and organize data, and develop data visualization tools. Senior BI Engineer will also act as the bridge between non-technical and technical stakeholders, building well tested, up to date and documented datasets which will support Hyperoptic's decision making process and future growth.
What will you be doing?
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to determine requirements, estimate level of effort, and implement solutions for data analysis and reporting. Identify and communicate prerequisites and constraints, if any.
- Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain reporting solutions, in accordance with specifications, guidelines, and standards, that enable analytics across the company.
- Define standards to communicate the freshness of the data and implement escalation process in case there is an issue.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and external datasets, when needed.
- Define quality standards of the data which includes setting definitions of done metrics for Data Engineers and minimum acceptance criteria for the sources in scope.
- Recognize room for optimization and improvements (reliability, performance, quality of data) and propose appropriate solutions.
- Write and regularly update development documentation.
- Constantly improve personal skills in line with company's data strategy (e.g. machine learning, AI).
What we are looking for:
- At least 3 years working experiences in data technologies, reporting tools, relational databases, ETL, data lake and data warehousing.
- Strong skill and knowledge in SQL programming, stored procedures, and capable of designing complex and performant SQL queries, including analytical/windowing extensions.
- Proven experience with building BI solutions in visualization and analysis tools.
- Experience with requirements collection, and transformation to solution.
- In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, management, and modelling.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and conceptual skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration with diverse teams.
- Strong self-management and time management skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
